American journalist Geralyn Lucas published an autobiographical account of her breast cancer journey. On the cover of the Japanese version of her book, she used an original breast cancer prevention symbol which was designed by the Director of Quality of Life Foundation, Hiroko Suzuki. From that time on, Ms. Suzuki has been organizing lectures advocating awareness and prevention of breast cancer, along with gala dinner parties for charity. Since its conception in 2007, PINK BEAUTY has continued to receive invaluable support and assistance from numerous people and organizations. In this fiscal year, as we approach the 10th anniversary, we wish to express our deepest gratitude for everyone’s understanding and cooperation.

Last year, after receiving generous financial support from the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania, the Embassy of Ireland, the Embassy of Republic of Croatia, along with cooperation from 15 different embassies, and support from over 50 corporations, we are overjoyed to announce that our organization was able to make significant contributions in the form of scholarships via the Japanese Breast Cancer Society International Fellowship Grant, which supports the research of young doctors overseas.

Our mission in the 2016 fiscal year focuses on the development of global medical technology. The embassies each recommend a medical researcher from their home country to participate in programs offered by cutting edge medical institutions in Japan. As a result, these medical researchers are able to bring back valuable knowledge to their home country, and also provide improved medical care for patients back home. Our organization is honored and proud to be involved in this worthwhile cause.

We have established Quality of Life Fund to support international exchange activities of medical researchers and advance cutting edge medicine and medical education. We highly appreciate strong support extended by Embassies in Tokyo and medical institutions in nomination of researchers who benefit from the Fund for their studies.

The proceeds from the event will be utilized for scholarship given to medical doctors from Peru and Uruguay, each nominated by their Ambassadors to Japan, who will study at Japanese medical institutions; St. Luke International Hospital and Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research. Last year, the invited Lithuanian breast surgeon applied the acquired breast surgeon techniques immediately and successfully in Lithuania.
