International Medical Exchange Symposium & Charity Gala
Commemorating the 20th Anniversary of QoLF

A Message from the President

Your Excellency, Distinguished Guests, and Valued Corporate Sponsors,

We extend our deepest gratitude for the continued exceptional support you have consistently shown to the Quality of Life Foundation, General Incorporated Association, International Support Council for Medical Researchers.

Since commencing our charitable activities in 2007 as an organisation dedicated to breast cancer awareness and prevention, we have reached our 20th anniversary this year, sustained by the gracious support of embassies in Japan and our many esteemed patrons. We once again express our profound gratitude for your longstanding kindness. To commemorate this milestone, we are pleased to announce our International Medical Exchange Symposium & Charity Gala on 17 April 2026.

To date, we have collaborated with medical and educational institutions both domestically and internationally, striving to strengthen the foundations of a fulfilling life through advancements in medical technology and education. The ‘Quality of Life’ we advocate for is not merely about prolonging life or advancing technical skill; we believe its essence lies in realising a society where every individual can lead a full life, with their values respected and their dignity upheld.

We consider the advancement of medical care the foundation that enables people to live more fulfilling lives. Marking this 20th anniversary as a new starting point, we intend to build upon our achievements. Alongside medical progress, we shall dedicate ourselves to the question of how people can best fulfil their lives, evolving our initiatives to create new value for society.

It is our hope that this International Medical Exchange Symposium will provide an opportunity to share a perspective that transcends medical specialisation and engages deeply with human dignity. Proceeds from this event will be allocated to the ‘Quality of Life Fund’. This fund will support the medical exchange costs for future host countries, thereby contributing to the advancement of international medical technology and the development of medical education.

Our organisation has promoted medical personnel exchanges tailored to the needs of each country, in close collaboration with embassies in Japan and with the deep cooperation of our domestic partner hospitals. To date, physicians recommended by numerous countries—including Lithuania, Poland, Armenia, Croatia, Greece, Peru, Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay, Angola, Botswana, Zambia, Jamaica, Serbia, and Jordan—have visited Japan. They have participated in our structured medical exchange programmes (observerships) at our affiliated hospitals: The University of Tokyo Hospital, Cancer Institute Hospital of JFCR, and St. Luke's International Hospital.

Last year, upon request from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, we facilitated an advanced medical exchange for a breast specialist at The University of Tokyo Hospital, Cancer Institute Hospital of JFCR, and Kagoshima Sagara Hospital. Reports of clinical achievements have been received from these doctors upon their return home, along with letters of appreciation from ambassadors and hospital directors in their respective countries.

Furthermore, specialists from our affiliated hospitals have participated in exchange missions to countries including Peru, Argentina, Colombia, El Salvador, Mexico, Greece, and Cuba. These missions have enabled multifaceted international contributions, such as introducing Japan's advanced medical practices and facilitating participation in local academic conferences.

As we mark this significant 20th anniversary, the success of this International Medical Exchange Symposium is profoundly important in connecting our past achievements to the future. Our entire organisation remains wholeheartedly committed to ensuring this medical exchange makes a meaningful contribution to the advancement of global medicine.

We would be most grateful for your understanding and support of this mission. We respectfully invite you to lend your support to this endeavour, as we work together towards a society where all people can live with dignity.

Respectfully,

Hiroko Suzuki
President,
General Incorporated Association Quality of Life Foundation
International Support Council for Medical Researchers President
