The Quality of Life Fund raised from the foundation’s project will be utilized to invite doctors, who are recommended by the Ambassador of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, from Uruguay for their study at Japan’s leading medical institutions in 2017.
We received a message from the Mr. José Mujica, the former President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, for our contribution of the support for the medical development to the Oriental Republic of Uruguay.

Dr. Kitamura (Doctor of Medical Science, International Medical Welfare University) and Dr. Ohno (Director of Breast Cancer Center Ariake Hospital Board Member of the Japanese Breast Cancer Society) gave lectures on the following subjects.

About “Breast cancer and female hormone”
Regarding breast cancer, in particular, I explained in an easy-to-understand manner that examination, discovery, and treatment at an early stage are important.

I explained the importance of community medicine, the choice of doctors who understand all of my body in total, how to associate with hospitals toward the declining birthrate and aging population in the future.

After the lecture, we moved to the ambassador’s residence, and a dinner party was held with Eldero Alberto · Elakas Sanchez-Baret (Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Peru). Ambassador explained the origins of Peru’s super food. It was a night where I could grasp the importance of health from foods using that ingredient.

The gala dinner proceeds from this seminar and ambassador’s residence will be used by Ariake Hospital, Cancer Research Group, Mammary gland surgeon, to visit Peru locally and use it as a fund to support the development of medical technology.

I received a book entitled “Contribution of the Japanese in Peruvian Andean civilization research” from the embassy. It was a very meaningful night that I was able to know the depth of the connection between Peru and Japan again.

The lecture was given by Dr. Yasuyoshi Ouchi, President of Toranomon Hospital, Federation of National Public Service Personal Mutual Aid Associations. The theme of the lecture was about the necessary medical care for the elderly, which has received little attention.

The proceeds of this fund will enable to invite a breast surgeon from the Republic of Poland and a medical specialist of radiation from the Republic of Armenia, who will practice for the development of medicine from the 12th November. Prior to their visit, we have arranged a meeting with our honorary advisors, H.E. Mr. Cyryl Kozaczewski, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, H.E. Mr. Grant Pogosyan, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia and H.E. Dr. Eduardo Bouzout Vignoli, the Ambassador of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay at the Cancer Institute Hospital, Japanese Foundation for Center Research, one of our partner hospitals, who receive the doctors for QoLF. Dr. Toshiharu Yamaguchi, M.D., Ph.D., Hospital Director and Dr. Shinji Ohno, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.C.S., Center Chief of Breast Oncology at the Hospital made a presentation for the Ambassadors and their wives, which has given us the further insight of the hospital who provides the highest standard of medicine i.e. systematic researches, surgery, radiation therapies, chemotherapies.
